SOLD! Situated near the dam of Marèges, semi-detached house from the 1930s. The house stands on approximately 498 m2 of land in the hamlet of Marèges.
The house consists on the ground floor of an entrance with stairs to the first floor and stairs to the cellars, separate toilet, shower room with double sink and washing machine connection, simply furnished kitchen with woodstove and living room with fireplace. On the first floor, there is a landing with stairs to second floor, small bedroom, separate toilet, spacious bedroom with fireplace, spacious bedroom with fireplace and cabinet de toilette with sink. On the second floor there is a landing and a large attic under a sloping roof with various dormer windows. There are two more basements under the house.
The house is largely still in its original state. The presence of wooden stairs, wooden panel doors, colorful floor tiles, wooden floors and old fireplaces in combination with the color scheme create a very pleasant, romantic atmosphere in the house. There is no heating except the wood stove in the kitchen.
The state of maintenance is less good. Wooden parts of the roof must be repainted on the outside. The fireplaces in the living room and the upstairs bedrooms must be revised.
The parcel is largely on the side and rear of the house in the form of a garden. In the garden there are a terrace, a wood store and a shed.
The property was built around 1935 for the benefit of the engineers and other important employees involved in the construction of the nearby dam on the river Dordogne. Most were semi-detached houses. The workers stayed in barracks that have since disappeared. The different buildings now form the hamlet of Marèges. The hamlet is situated in a wooded, hilly area. There are no basic facilities. Opposite the house is a power plant fed by the dam.
